چکیده
Aims: To identify the potential genotypes and important traits for drought tolerance based on root system architectural morphometric that can be used as a selection criteria in future crop improvement programs.
Study Design: Completely randomized design Randomized block with two replications traits.
Place Duration of Study: Department Millets, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore during Summer 2022.
Methodology: The 33 elite were raised polybags factors, one is genotype other treatment observing completely design. Also these field treatments, irrigated at early stage Results: Based traits, significant network perimeter, surface area, length volume. Under condition, high phenotypic coefficient variation genotypic observed single plant yield, heritability genetic advance days to 50 per cent flowering, height, leaf blade length, spike 1000 seed weight yield. Correlation study revealed all characters except number tillers flowering had positive correlation Path analysis showed direct effect yield.
Conclusion: identified volume, tolerant Nattu cumbu, ICMB 10444, 86M38 PT 6752.

Correlation Studies for Grain Yield Components and Nutritional Quality Traits in Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) Germplasm
Before selecting genotypes for nutritional quality characters (protein, oil and micronutrients content) and anti-nutritional factor (phytic acid), it is important to know how much selection is likely to affect yield. Using a diverse range of genotypes, relationships between quality traits with yield and yield attributes in pearl millet were investigated. The number of productive tillers, panicl...

Seeds of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L) R. Br.) from six provenances of Tunisia were subjected to germination and shoot and root length tests on filter paper treated with polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) solutions made up to provide osmotic potentials of 0, -1 and -2 MPa. Mean germination percent for all provenances decreased about 73% in -2 MPa compared to control (0 MPa) treatment. O...

The objective of this study was to identify morphological and physiological traits for salinity tolerance in Tunisian autochthonous ZZ pearl millet ecotype (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br) under local conditions. ZZ ecotype was cultivated under different levels of salinity and growth parameters, water relations and mineral content were measured. Results showed that ZZ pearl millet ecotype was un...

متن کاملTowards Defining Heterotic Gene Pools in Pearl Millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.]
Pearl millet is a climate resilient crop and one of the most widely grown millets worldwide. Heterotic hybrid development is one of the principal breeding objectives in pearl millet. In a maiden attempt to identify heterotic groups for grain yield, a total of 343 hybrid parental [maintainer (B-) and restorer (R-)] lines were genotyped with 88 polymorphic SSR markers. The SSRs generated a total ...
